Gigaverse founder 0xDith has shared significant updates on the project's Auctioneer mechanic, revealing that it has burned 500 NFTs — approximately 15% of the total supply of glhfers — since launch.

In a statement today, 0xDith described the Auctioneer as "my favorite all time collection gamification mechanic" and emphasized that the feature is central to the Gigaverse ecosystem. The mechanic allows the GLHFers collection to buy and burn its own NFTs, creating deflationary pressure.

Looking ahead, 0xDith outlined a deliberate rollout strategy, noting that the auction pipeline is designed to take years to complete. He hinted at multiple iterations of the core concept, each introducing novel mechanics and deeper integration into the broader Gigaverse ecosystem.

"The longer the Auctioneer takes to run all remaining auctions, the stronger of a long term holder base it fosters," 0xDith stated.

While 0xDith confirmed that Auctioneer v2 is in development, he cautioned that deployment may take considerable time, describing the upcoming version as "glorious" when it eventually launches.

Background: Gigaverse (playgigaverse) is a crypto-native RPG built on Abstract blockchain with 75K+ players and 10M+ in marketplace volume. GLHFers (glhfers) serves as the ecosystem's flagship NFT collection. 0xDith, a former Stripe employee and Head of Business Development at Proof of Play, is widely recognized as a leading builder in onchain gaming.
