0xdith, founder of Gigaverse and a former Stripe employee, is drawing attention to a notable business model shift: AI app builder Lovable has integrated Stripe's payments-as-a-service offering, enabling Lovable to facilitate and monetize transactions on behalf of its own customers.
The observation carries weight given 0xdith's background. Before building one of Abstract's most successful crypto-native RPGs, he worked directly at Stripe, giving him firsthand familiarity with how the payments giant structures its embedded finance products for platform businesses.
Stripe's payments-as-a-service model — sometimes referred to as Stripe Connect — allows platforms to embed payment processing into their own products and take a cut of transaction revenue, rather than simply paying Stripe as an end merchant. For Lovable, a platform that helps users build web applications, this means it can now generate revenue from the economic activity happening within apps its users create.
0xdith notes that both private and public markets have historically rewarded companies that successfully layer payments monetization on top of existing user bases — a pattern seen with platforms like Shopify, Toast, and others that transformed from software businesses into embedded fintech players.
While Lovable operates outside the Abstract ecosystem, the callout from one of Abstract's most prominent builders signals broader interest among crypto-native founders in how AI-powered development platforms are evolving their business models.
