The new role system will recognize members based on three contribution types: social content creation, onchain activity, and building within the ecosystem. 0xCygaar stated the team will aim to distribute roles as objectively as possible.
0xCygaar serves as a lead engineer on the abstractchain blockchain — a consumer-focused Ethereum Layer 2 developed by Igloo Inc., the parent company of Pudgy Penguins. He is also CTO of Cube Labs and a key contributor behind NFT standards including ERC-721A and DN-404.
The announcement cited a rise in negativity across the space as a motivating factor for the changes. The restructuring appears aimed at shifting community culture by formally rewarding constructive participation rather than passive membership.
